Diversity, Change and Common Sense
Diversity is reality!  Forget about managing it!

Demographic shifts are here and reshaping the American landscape right now.  Southern Florida, Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada and California in particular are leading the way, and there is more to come.  On the one hand, intelligent and savvy businesspeople, civic and governmental leaders are aware that shifting demographics require that business be done in a different way.  On the other hand, as the American landscape changes, “E Pluribus Unum” has to become a fact of life. We must learn to live and work in a way that transcends mere “tolerance” and does not elude the demands of an ethical democracy.

In our world, our personal lives and the community we live in, work with, are served by, share space with, play and eat with, are directed by and lead by those who are different from us.  There are ways and means of reducing tension, while benefiting and profiting in a multicultural diverse environment.  At the same time, we must not sacrifice common sense or our democratic imperatives.
